Well, I have finally returned to the blog and it has been a most exciting first month of the new year! At the end of 2024, we were awaiting the birth of our first great-granddaughter, but she did not come for another two weeks! She was born on January 12th; mother and daughter are doing great! I am not, however, allowed to post photos of her just yet. Mothers’ orders!

Just this week, we had a major weather event here in the Southern USA. We received 6 inches of snow on Tuesday, the 21st. This never happens in the South! When it does happen, we might get 1 inch of hard crunchy icy snow, but this snow was perfect. It was fluffy dry snow that you could kick with your feet and not end up with a broken toe! Today is Friday, and there are still small patches scattered about in the shady areas of the yard.
