About spiderware2015

Wife, Mother, Grandmother, photographer, digital layout artist, and traveler.

Welcome Back!

Even the best laid plans run into snags from time to time. Sometimes, they run into BIG snags, but I am glad to be back on the blog and just hope I can stay here this time!

It is proving to be a HOT summer and when it rains, it is usually an electrical storm. It is hurricane season here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, so we always have an eye on the tropics. Thank goodness we haven’t had a blow through yet this season but it’s not over until the end of November!

So to catch up a bit, anyone who still frequents this blog knows that I am a Digital Layout Artist and I create a lot of scrapbook pages. I post most all of my layouts in the galleries at Gingerscraps, Scrapgirls, and in my personal album on Facebook. I recently was added to the site creative team at Gingerscraps (this is big for me!). I also create layouts for Miss Fish Templates, and Aimee Harrison. I believe I am safe to say that I stay pretty busy in the digital layout department! So, this is what I post here on the blog, digital scrapbook layouts. From time to time, you will see a post that has nothing to do with scrapbooking, but not often.

With my postings, I can only hope to be an inspiration to someone, give a bit of hope to someone, or brighten someone’s day. Enjoy!

CT Call!!

Miss Fish is having a Creative Team Call! If you are a digital scrapbooker and think that you would like to be on a Designers Team, then this call is for you! Even if you are new to scrapbooking and have never been on a team, I encourage you to apply for a spot on the team. I love creating with Miss Fish Templates and I love being on her team.

January? Where did it go?

Beautiful people, where did January go so quickly? It seems like only yesterday we were celebrating the New Year and now it is virtually the end of the month! I don’t usually make resolutions but I did promise myself that I would try to keep up on this blog a bit better. It looks like I failed on that promise – hopefully, just for January!

So, January has been cold and it has rained quite a bit while the rest of the country has been snowed under and flooded out. Yes, we have hurricanes but I am really glad that I live in the South.

Top news today as we gear down and head into the heart month of February… Miss Fish has a birthday coming up and she is having a sale that is going on right now at both of her stores. Check it! GS – https://bit.ly/ShopMissFishGS SG – https://bit.ly/MFish_ScrapGirls

Also, I am now on Aimee Harrison’s Creative Team! There is no better combination than a Miss Fish Template and an Aimee Harrison Kit! Perfectly Paired! Here are some of the layouts that I have completed. Everything that I have used in the creation of these layouts can be purchased at either Scrapgirls or Gingerscraps.

That’s it for now! Thank you for looking!

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas!

I know I haven’t posted in about a month. It has been busy at the old homestead with preparations for Christmas. The tree is looking good but I cannot seem to keep Casper out from underneath. I have already had to fix some of the name tags! My advice to anyone that has a young cat is (this is Caspers’ 5th Christmas!) to not use tags that dangle. Use the ones with the sticky on the back!!

Here are a few things that I have been up too!

Alana and Mark make the best Christmas photos every year. I can’t imagine how they get these wonderful fur babies to sit still long enough. Amazing!

Fruitcake!

In my last post, I posted a photo of a bowl of fruit soaking in whiskey. Today, I baked a fruitcake with that same bowl of fruit. It turned out really well! The cake is moist and yummy. I decided not to age the cakes because I wanted to be able to enjoy them now. I did brush the outside of them with Grape Juice and Jack Daniels and they are resting in the fridge for now.

November 2022

Good Morning! I hope everyone is having a good week so far. If not, tomorrow is Friday and you have the weekend to iron things out or just chill and relax a bit. My week has been full. I baked Cranberry Oatmeal Cookies yesterday for my husband. He has been after me to bake them for a few weeks. They turned out really well! He does not like raisins at all so cranberry it is!

Today is Fruitcake Day! I know a lot of people do not like fruitcakes but I think it is all in how the fruitcake is made. I don’t know. This is the first time that I have ever attempted to make one so we will see how it turns out. Right now, my fruits are soaking in a mixture of Three Roses Whiskey and Jack Daniels! I’ll be sure to let you guys know how they turn out!

Here are some of my newest layouts using Miss Fish Templates. All of the Templates are available at Gingerscraps and Scrapgirls.

That’s all for now, enjoy the rest of the week and be thankful for everything that you have. Happy Thanksgiving!

Monday, Monday!

Happy Monday! I hope that it has not been your typical beginning of the week Monday. Hopefully, everyone has had a good day, and if you feel that you have not, sit down in a quiet place for just a few moments and reflect back on the day. I am sure that you will find something good in there somewhere.

My typical Monday is Laundry day. Come to think of it, if there is laundry that needs to be washed, every day could be laundry day. However, I like to start the laundry on Monday. Two loads completed and now I just have to fold and put things away. Somehow, that seems to always be the hardest part for me and takes the longest to get around to doing!

First thing this morning I had to drive up to the clinic to have blood work done. I have my yearly checkup tomorrow so this blood work will be a comprehensive panel, aka the works. I hate going anywhere to get blood work done because they can never find the veins in my arm and end up sticking me in the back of my hand. It doesn’t hurt any more or less while the blood is being taken but my hand always looks bruised afterward. Oh well, only for a short time.

So, at the beginning of October, I started creating layouts for Ms. Juli Fish of Miss Fish Templates. She has been selling at Gingerscraps for as long as I can remember but now she has a second store at Scrapgirls. This store opened on October 7th. If you are into digital scrapbooking and love templates, check out her store at Gingerscraps or stop by her store at Scrapgirls to see how it is progressing along.

I was only to be a Guest on her team for October and November but since she opened the new store, she took me on full-time to create layouts primarily for the store at Scrapgirls. I am so excited to be a part of her team. This is something that I have hoped to get for quite some time!

Here are some of the layouts that I have completed for her and they are posted at various places on Facebook. If you click on the link below the layout, you will be taken to the template that is available in her Scrapgirls.

Framed Templates
Fall Fantastic Templates
Masked Memories 3 Templates
Golden Days Templates
Ready, Set, Blend 1 – 4 Templates
Big & Little 8 Templates

All of the kits used in the making of these layouts are kits created by some of the designers at Scrapgirls and are available for purchase in the store.

That’s all of the news for now. Have a fantastic week and be safe in whatever you do.
